- From £ 1,990
- 12 nights. From Beijing to Guangzhou

- This country is much more than its enormous past. There is a new China emerging and it is exciting. Join us and be amongst the first to look into the future.
We travel by high-speed train, we stay in contemporary hotels and our excursions are based around recent developments.
This is seeing the China of NOW, not yesteryear.

- From £ 1,775
- 12 nights. From Beijing to Chengdu

- This journey takes you across the country via many of the most popular cities but with a definite bent towards various forms of Chinese entertainment.
We have also included a visit to Wuqiao, home of acrobatics in China and more evening performances than normal. You do not have to be an entertainment fanatic to enjoy this journey but you may well become one as the trip progresses.
Along the way you will get to see many Chinese icons including the Great Wall of China, the Terracotta Warriors and pandas.

- From £ 1,895
- 12 nights. From Guangzhou to Guilin

- Guizhou Province has always been remote. It is now becoming easier to travel there so be amongst the first to discover the rich cultural legacy of this isolation before it too moves into the modern world.
We travel up to Kaili in the south-east of the Province before working our way to Guilin in Guangxi Province by private vehicle. We visit numerous minority villages en-route.
This tour ends in Guilin for maximum flexibility. Check out our range of Extensions and Extra Services from there.

- From £ 1,950
- 13 nights. From Beijing to Shanghai

- This journey includes visits to many delightful gardens as well as other, more regular sites. We include some expert talks where appropriate.
Primarily aimed at keen gardeners we have included visits to the three traditional styles of garden in China - Royal, Temple and Private - with experts on hand where possible to provide information beyond that of the local guide.
We also include some of the more regular highlights so that you need not miss out on these.

- From £ 1,950
- 13 nights. From Beijing to Guangzhou

- We head from the seat of power in the north, Beijing, to the very different south. We see a mix of urban and rural life giving us a glimpse at the changes that are taking place in this fascinating country.
After Beijing we stop over in Xi'an which, as an ancient capital, has many worthwhile sites including the world famous Terracotta Warriors.
We fly from there south to Guilin, a city set in some of the most beautiful scenery anywhere. We enjoy the best of that with outings to the rice terraces of Longsheng and to Yangshuo.
Our journey ends in Guangzhou.

- From £ 1,775
- 13 nights. From Shanghai to Chengdu

- We follow the Yangtse upstream from Shanghai near its mouth up into Sichuan. This takes us to some important cities as well as through the spectacular Three Gorges by cruise boat.
Our journey should be comfortable enough. We have trains, planes and our cruise boat to carry us along. We should not forget that, until quite recently, sailing ships made this journey only with the benefit of manpower to haul them upstream and the journeys were slow, uncomfortable and dangerous.
The Three Gorges Dam Project has had a massive influence on the area and its people. Only as you pass through will you be able to get much of an idea of the scale of these changes.

- From £ 1,925
- 14 nights. From Beijing to Shanghai

- We use the 6 ancient capitals as an excuse to explore the country. Each capital has developed differently and the contrasts help us to understand something of the real China.
We start with Beijing, literally the Northern Capital. Xi'an follows, although the city was known as Chang'an when it was capital. Luoyang and Kaifeng follow; both being associated most significantly with just the one dynasty. Nanjing is the Southern Capital to pair with Beijing, and was capital as recently as 1937. The last of our set is Hangzhou, visited by Marco Polo during its heyday.
Our journey ends in Shanghai which makes up for its lack of political significance by being the financial and commercial capital of China. It also has two airports and very good connections around the world.
Conveniently, the cities are all well-connected by rail and we manage much of the trip overland.

- From £ 2,050
- 14 nights. From Beijing to Kunming

- The minority groups in Yunnan have been known as the Coloured Clouds, a reference to the beautiful clothing worn, especially by the ladies. Our journey takes us south-west to their homelands.
En-route we see the major sites in Beijing, Xi'an and Chengdu. These include the Great Wall of China, the Terracotta Warriors and pandas.
In Yunnan we visit Lijiang, home of the Naxi people, Dali, home of the Bai people, and Kunming.
Please be aware: this is an active trip with more walking and hiking than most other China Journeys.

- From £ 3,290
- 20 nights. A circuit from Shanghai

- This journey combines the excitement of discovery in remote Yunnan with a comfortable Yangtse Cruise and a comprehensive look at the most popular sites.
The route is a large circuit from Shanghai, a city with two airports and great connections around the globe.
We fly across China to Yunnan Province for a week's worth of relative adventure in this remote corner. We visit two ethnic minority towns - Lijiang and Dali, home to the Naxi and Bai peoples respectively. We end that section in Kunming the bustling provincial capital.
We then take in many of the highlights for visitors to China:
- the Pandas;
- a Yangtse Cruise;
- the Terracotta Warriors;
- the Great Wall of China; and
- Shanghai.

- From £ 2,850
- 21 nights. From Lanzhou to Kashgar

- We plunge straight into a very different country by starting our journey out west in Lanzhou. Already there is a heavy influence of the Muslim world indicating that you are on the route of the ancient Silk Road.
Trains, buses and the occasional plane take us on a journey that would have taken the merchants of old many months. The idea is to pass through the same lands, not to suffer the same hardships.
These lands offer traces of past cultures but we are also able to discover the various features of those that remain. At times we will join locals in their homes and discover a little more about their way of life.

Enjoy bonus time with a focus on the less familiar. Get to the places most tours have to skip.
